Speech Language Pathologist - Pediatric Outpatient Rehabilitation

Arnold Palmer Hospital Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, feeding and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients of all ages with varying acuity levels.

Essential Functions

• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.

• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treats accordingly.

• Evaluate and recommend various types of augmentative and alternative communication equipment.

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.

• Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate.

• Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing using an electronic medical record.

• Instructs and supervises supportive personnel in their duties.

• Communicates and collaborates with multiple specialty healthcare providers.

• Attends rehabilitation meetings, in-services, and any patient care meetings that are required for the assignment.

Education/Training

Master’s degree in speech/language pathology from an approved program.

Licensure/Certification

• Certificate of Clinical Competence or active engagement in the Clinical Fellowship Year requirements.

• Maintains current Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Florida- provisional license is acceptable.

• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification.

Experience

Two years of outpatient pediatric experience preferred.
