Job Summary

Performs limited supervisory and semi-skilled manual work involving the: construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, roadways, drainage, and utility lines and systems; cleaning of buildings and other public facilities; and landscaping and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way. Employees assigned to this classification perform a variety of tasks involving above-average physical effort and operation of power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills. Work is assigned and carried out according to oral and written instructions, usually from a crew leader or a field supervisor, and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, meetings, and review of work orders to ensure quality and timeliness.

Minimum Qualifications:

STREETS/STORMWATER: High school diploma/GED; two (2) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of the following: streets, sidewalks, roadways, drainage or utility lines and systems or right of ways or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Computer operation and software skills required to retrieve and closeout work requests. Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Valid Florida CDL Class B or higher required.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

• Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
• Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
• Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
