About the Role:
As a Warehouse Operator in the transportation and warehousing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods within the warehouse. Your primary objective will be to maintain accurate inventory levels and facilitate smooth logistics operations by handling materials safely and effectively. You will collaborate closely with logistics coordinators, drivers, and other warehouse staff to meet daily operational targets and deadlines. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Basic proficiency with warehouse management systems or inventory software.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts (certification preferred).
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift operator certification.
- Experience with computerized inventory control systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Previous experience in transportation or distribution centers.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations to optimize warehouse space and accessibility.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems and conduct regular stock counts.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks and coordinate with transportation personnel to facilitate timely dispatch.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or operational issues to supervisors promptly.
