Sr. Mechatronics & Robotics Technician - JLLĀ

What this job involves:Ā Ā Ā 

As aĀ Sr. Mech & Robotics Tech,Ā you will lead service technicians on the team in the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. You will support the Operations MaintenanceĀ team inĀ by designing solutions for difficult problems and managing projects. You will helpĀ train, andĀ mentor service and contract technicians.Ā

What your day-to-day will look like:Ā 

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety proceduresĀ 

  • Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems in the buildingĀ 

  • Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures.Ā 

  • Install,Ā maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.Ā 

  • Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance and parts usedĀ 

  • Maintain a positive working relationship across all the Operations facilityĀ 

  • Develop training plans for service techniciansĀ 

  • Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assetsĀ 

  • Move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodationĀ 

  • Travel up to 20% at a minimum.Ā

Required Qualifications:Ā 

  • High school diploma or equivalentĀ 

  • Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends,Ā nightsĀ and/or holidaysĀ 

  • 3+ years of experience conducting preventative maintenanceĀ 

  • 3Ā + years of experience reading blueprints and schematicsĀ 

  • 2+ years of work order managementĀ

Preferred Qualifications:Ā 

  • Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical fieldĀ 

  • 5+ years of experience working with automated conveyors and controlsĀ 

  • 2+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principlesĀ 

  • 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical fieldĀ 

  • PreviousĀ leadership experienceĀ 

  • PreviousĀ vendor management experienceĀ 

  • Experience with robotic maintenanceĀ 

  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standardsĀ Ā 

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Ā 

Ā 

PhysicalĀ Demands:Ā 

  • Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walkingĀ 

  • Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 49 poundsĀ 

  • Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)Ā 

  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfacesĀ 

  • Standing/walking on concrete surfaces for 10+ hour shifts

  • Working at heights (as stated previously)Ā 

  • Pushing/pulling wheeled equipment and carts up to 100+ poundsĀ 

  • Maneuvering awkward or bulky equipment partsĀ 

  • Working in cramped positions under/behind machineryĀ
