The Job You Will Perform:Â
Provide Incident Command support and leadership to the mill Emergency Response TeamÂ
Respond to all mill site emergencies - fire, hazardous materials, medical and natural disastersÂ
Daily inspect and audit ERT response truck and emergency equipment.
Provide first aid and emergency medical treatment; resolve injury management concerns; complete paperworkÂ
Assist the Riverdale Mill’s Fire Chief with inspections/tests/maintenance of the mill’s fire protection systemsÂ
Interface with Corporate Risk Management and FM Global, especially with fire system impairmentsÂ
Serve as a relief IPCC for the fire chief with managing fire system contractorsÂ
Evaluate and oversee permitting of high-risk tasksÂ
Collaborate with the Fire Chief for developing and implementing training plans for the mill Emergency Response TeamÂ
Assist with classroom and field instruction for the mill Emergency Response TeamÂ
Participate in critical planning discussions that involve emergency response scenarios.
Work with area teams to review and organize emergency plans for all high-risk areas / tasks.
Participate with reviewing required SOPs concerning ERT training, equipment maintenance & calibration, and rescue plans.
Act as a liaison between mill and outside emergency services.
Develop and manage confined entry rescue plans.
Maintain a current roster of all active members of the ERT Team.Â
Encourage and campaign for new membership, actively promote ERT Team through mill communications
Participate in new hire integration process to train on relevant emergency response procedures and preventative measures
Assist with conducting SCBA refilling, inspections, and training throughout the mill.
Assist Mill Nurses to assist in any medical related duties.

Minimum Qualifications:Â
Certified Basic EMT
Confined Space RescueÂ
High Angle Rescue and Emergency Rope/Knots TechniquesÂ
Operations Level trained in hazardous material responseÂ
Trained to Firefighter Mod. 1Â
Must be able to work shift rotation including night and weekends.Â
Preferred Qualifications:Â
Â
Fire Officer 1 certificationÂ
Certified Advanced EMT
Trained in all aspects of Incident Command
Trained in rescue operationsÂ
Trained in basic industrial fire fightingÂ
Basic knowledge of fire protection systemsÂ
At least two years of Emergency Response experienceÂ
