The Material Handler Associate is responsible for receiving and following verbal or written instruction from the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor and supporting the movement, organization, and staging of materials and products within and outside the facility. The position plays a key role in maintaining efficient material flow, supporting production schedules, and ensuring optimal use of facility space in alignment with the 6S initiative.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Receive and follow verbal and written instructions from the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
  • Move, organize, and transport products such as panels and shims off site as required
  • Coordinate with scheduling and leadership to ensure products are returned prior to campaign start dates
  • Support space optimization efforts by relocating future or long-term projects off site
  • Contribute to the 6S initiative by improving organization and flow of materials
  • Pre-pack pallets with panels to create “Basket Kits” for workflow efficiency in waterjet operations
  • Standardize, consolidate, organize, and properly label pallets and work-in-process materials
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklift trucks to move materials between departments
  • Distribute materials to production areas and assembly lines as needed
  • Collect, move, store, and deliver a wide range of materials including finished goods
  • Fill orders from storage areas and stack pallets in designated locations
  • Perform inventory tracking and required recordkeeping activities
  • Utilize FIFO (First In, First Out) methodology to manage material flow
  • Complete required documentation for daily time tracking and production reporting
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license required
  • Forklift operation and material handling experience required
  • 1–2 years of warehouse experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a metal manufacturing environment preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
  • Experience using databases and company applications required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
