Holtec International is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Mechanical Inspector Level II. This role is responsible for performing receipt and in-process inspections on materials purchased by Holtec or supplied by customers for use in fabrication. The Mechanical Inspector ensures compliance with applicable specifications, purchase orders, and quality requirements through inspection, documentation, and reporting activities.

 

Location: Orrville, OH

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform receipt and in-process inspections on materials used in fabrication
  • Document and record inspection results accurately and report findings as required
  • Maintain adherence to all safety procedures and guidelines at all times
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and in orderly condition
  • Utilize inspection tools and equipment such as calipers, scales, micrometers, go/no-go gauges, thread gauges, and tape measures
  • Verify calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment prior to use
  • Ensure inspection, examination, and test procedures are approved and properly followed
  • Assist production with setup of materials and components for receipt inspection
  • Review Certified Material Test Reports (CMTRs) and verify conformance to purchase order requirements
  • Record time and inspection activities on appropriate forms
  • Perform audits and surveillances as required by management

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing dimensional inspections required
  • Experience using inspection tools such as calipers, scales, micrometers, go/no-go gauges, thread gauges, and tape measures required
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions
  • Ability to maintain safety compliance at all times
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and maintain organized work areas
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
