Job Title: Purchaser

Department: Powerplant Division

Location: Oscoda, MI

 

Summary:


The Purchasing Agent is directly responsible to the Powerplant Purchasing Supervisor.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Ensuring that procurement of materials and services is cost effective and in accordance with company / customer policies and procedures.
  • Procuring and expediting material to support engine maintenance requirements.
  • Procuring and expediting material on a routine basis for stock replenishment.
  • Ensuring that parts providers used by the company are on the Approved Maintenance Provider List, or have been approved for one-time use by the Kalitta Air Quality Assurance Department.
  • Obtaining multiple price quotes for materials and services when possible.
  • Ensuring that materials meet the minimum certification requirements prior to purchasing.
  • This is done by a Quality Department review.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Powerplant Division Materials Manager.


Education/or Experience: 


High school diploma is required. Must know how to operate a standard computer as well as Microsoft office, Excel, and be able to communicate professionally, accurately, and clearly. 

 

Qualifications:

 

Good attendance is a must.

 

Language Skills:


Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

 

Mathematical Skills:


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to convert between different units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

 

Physical Demands:


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb/descend stairs, and bend.

 

Work Environment:


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters. While performing the essential functions of this job.  Will work mainly at a computer station. Subjected to occasionally low – high noise levels.
