Summary

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for billing processes and reconciliation, as well as accurate distribution of payments, by allocation and location, in a timely manner. This role involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. The associate shall interface effectively across all functional areas and with all Fox World Travel team members.


A day in the life of an Accounts Receivable Specialist at Fox may include:

  • Performance of all accounts receivable duties including:
    • Creating and sending customer invoices. 
    • Allocating customer and provider payments, by branch, if applicable.
    • Assisting in resolving customer inquiries regarding invoicing and payment process.
    • Processing monthly Account Management Program (AMP) invoices.
    • Downloading and importing commission files and tracking unreconciled to bookings.
    • Applying and tracking non-import commission payments.
    • Creating and reviewing A/R aging reports and managing collection efforts.
    • Preparing fiscal month end tasks and workpapers.
    • Completing and maintaining all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Performing back-ups as needed for Accounting Assistants editing and reconciling invoices. 
  • Maintaining and editing electronic rolodex.
    • Customer, Provider, and Employee IDs
    • Hotel commissions
    • Interest codes
  • Cross-training within the accounting department. 
  • Assisting with customer and interdepartmental company service requests through phone support and email. 
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations to uphold financial data integrity.
  • Updating knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Maintaining a favorable and collaborative working relationship with co-workers in all departments to foster an environment of trust and mutual respect. Driving standards and best practices whenever possible and effectively foster a culture of engagement.
  • Enhancing the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Being innovative and recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations and services performed.
  • Other duties, projects and alternate assignments as determined by business need.


This opportunity might be for you if you have:

  •  Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  •  2+ years in A/R or similar Accounting Position.
  •  Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge in Excel.
  •  Experience in Integrated Accounting Systems.
  •  Prior experience with cost allocations and separate profit & loss statements for multiple cost centers/locations preferred.
  •  Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines.
  •  Well-developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the ability to confidentially handle sensitive financial information.
  •  Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while demonstrating ability to remain flexible in a changing work environment.
  •  Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles.
  •  Self-motivation; demonstrate initiative with a strong commitment to personal goals, objectives, and work ethic.
  •  Interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule from 8:00am - 5:00pm CT.
