Description
  The Beautician provides hair and nail care services to residents in an assisted living facility. This role helps enhance residents’ appearance, dignity, and emotional well-being by delivering safe, compassionate, and personalized beauty services.  To improve residents’ confidence, comfort, and emotional well-being by helping them maintain their personal grooming and appearance in a respectful, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide services such as haircuts, perms, styling, coloring, shampooing, and basic treatments.Â
- Perform additional services such as manicures or nail cutting.
- Consult with residents to determine preferences and appropriate treatments.Â
- Recommend products and care routines for hair and nails.Â
- Build respectful, supportive relationships with elderly residents.Â
- Promote residents’ self-esteem, comfort, and quality of life.Â
- Adapt services based on physical, cognitive, or mobility limitations.Â
- Report      any concerns about a resident’s health or condition to the nursing staff and Activities Manager
- Schedule and manage appointments with residents and through families.Â
- Coordinate with caregivers or nursing staff to ensure resident safety.Â
- Maintain flexibility to meet residents’ needs and routines.Â
- Maintain accurate records of services, client preferences, and appointments.Â
- The beauticians would need to bring their own supplies.Â
- Provide service records for billing or reporting purposes.Â
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe salon/work environment.
Qualifications:
- Active state Cosmetology or Beautician License (required).Â
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities (preferred).Â
- Knowledge of sanitation, infection control, and safety practices.Â
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Â
- Compassionate, patient, and service-oriented attitude.Â

Work Environment:
- Assisted living or senior care facility.
- May work as a contracted service provider.
