Responsibilities:
  • Assess, monitor, and provide wound care treatment for residents
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
  • Monitor wound healing progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Educate nursing staff on wound care best practices and prevention measures
  • Oversee the facility's infection prevention and control program
  • Conduct infection surveillance and track/report infections within the facility
  • Manage residents on isolation or precautions and ensure appropriate interventions are in place
  • Coordinate outbreak response efforts and communicate updates to leadership and staff
  • Assist with antibiotic stewardship initiatives
  • Provide staff education and training related to infection prevention, wound care, and regulatory compliance
  • Complete audits and monitor compliance with infection control policies and procedures
  • Stay current on CDC, state, and federal infection prevention guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of Wisconsin
  • Wound care experience preferred
  • Infection prevention experience preferred
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
  • Long-term care experience preferred
