Position Summary:

Metcar is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Porter to join our team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for general housekeeping throughout the facility, with a strong emphasis on cleaning and maintaining a Process environment free of debris generated during the manufacturing process. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform daily cleaning of production areas, focusing on the removal of debris generated during the manufacturing process, from floors, equipment surfaces, workstations, and common areas
Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain cleanliness throughout the manufacturing facility.
Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste materials.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and office areas.
Maintain hallways, entrances, conference rooms, and other common areas in a clean and presentable condition.
Assist with cleaning production equipment and surrounding work areas as directed.
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, paper products, and sanitation materials.
Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support facility-wide housekeeping initiatives to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages to management.
Assist with special cleaning projects and facility upkeep as needed.
Maintain a professional attitude and work effectively with employees throughout the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior industrial, manufacturing, janitorial, or custodial experience preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.

· Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where carbon dust, noise, and varying temperatures may be present.

· Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection when required

Located within an easy commute in tri-state area (New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut). Next to Ossining Train Station (Metro North).
