The Manufacturing Production Worker is responsible for supporting the manufacturing process of abrasive products by operating equipment, handling raw materials, and ensuring production meets quality and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Reports to: Production Supervisor
Salary Range: $20.50 - $22.00
Shift: 6am - 2:30pm and 2:30pm – 11pm


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery used in the manufacturing of abrasive products (e.g., cutting wheels, sanding discs, grinding materials)
  • Load raw materials (resins, grains, bonding agents) into machines according to production specifications
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance tasks
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with plant standards
  • Record production data, material usage, and any defects or issues
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality concerns promptly

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience is a plus (especially in abrasives, ceramics, or chemical processing)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read and write English

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk bend, stoop, twist and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with dust, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to safely operate machinery, read gauges and warning indicators, and identify hazards in a manufacturing environment, with or without corrective lenses.
