Service and Repair Person

* This is a temporary position with anticipated employment through May 16, 2026, with the possibility of continued employment based on operational needs and position availability.

Position Overview

Auxiliary Services is seeking a Service and Repair Person to support the maintenance and repair of Dining Services equipment across campus. Working under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, this position assists with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of kitchen and dining service equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation of campus dining facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist General Mechanics in repairing, maintaining, and replacing Dining Services equipment.

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on kitchen and dining service equipment.

  • Maintain responsibility for tools and equipment assigned to the position.

  • Follow all safety procedures and campus operational guidelines.

  • Maintain cleanliness and professional standards in accordance with Auxiliary Services and government health regulations.

  • Work independently on assigned projects and service requests.

  • Support maintenance operations and assist coworkers to ensure efficient service.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to lift 100 pounds.

  • Experience in service and repair and service of dining equipment
  • A valid NYS class "D" driver's license to operate your employer's trucks, vans, and automobiles.

  • Insurable on an unrated, non-pool basis in a company authorized to do insurance in New York State. Equivalent military education and experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of hands-on experience in refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
