Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment, while meeting productivity requirements and maintaining KDP’s high standards in safety and quality.

 

Shift & Schedule: This position will support our 2nd Shift:  1:00 PM - 9:30 PM Flexibility for additional coverage outside of these hours, including potential weekends and/or holidays, is also required.as needed. 

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment, demonstrating safe behaviors at all times.   
  • Focus on Good Manufacturing and Food Safety practices in all work.
  • Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.
  • Assist and collaborate with other teams on basic mechanical skills, such as line operators, to support autonomous maintenance, TPM functions, equipment set-up and centerlining.
  • Ability to quickly learn to weld and machine metals, plastics, and composites.
  • Fabricate or replicate minor pieces for the repair or replacement of parts on equipment.Complete size changeovers and troubleshoot liquid fillers and packaging equipment.
  • Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical and control failures and resolve with effective problem-solving tools with minimal downtime or supervision.
  • Generate productivity and continuous improvement ideas.

Total Rewards:
  • This is an Hourly role with starting pay of $29.47/ hr
  • Benefits, subject to eligibility, and collective bargaining agreements (where applicable): Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including vacation and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement

Requirements:
  • 1-year maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability and willingness to make decisions, effectively communicate, problem solve and teach others.
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to frequently walk, kneel, squat, climb, bend, stoop, and twist.
  • Ability to work in a variety of temperature and humidity conditions.
