First Resources of Ottumwa is searching for a dedicated Full-time Human Resources Administrator
Assists the Chief Human Resources Officer with policy creation, revision and implementation. Works in conjunction with the Chief Human Resources Officer and other members of the Human Resources team. Is trusted as an accurate source of information as confirmed by personnel reports
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Essential Job Functions:
- Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.Â
- Complete data entry into our payroll management system for payroll changes.Â
- Collect and update change forms for salary and hourly staff. That included promotion, demotion, transferring and etc.Â
- Upload sick and vacation accruals in our payroll management system for all employees.Â
- Review final payroll.Â
- Enroll and maintain all employees eligible for FMLA or any other leaves of absence in the workplace.Â
- Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees records and medical files.Â
- Produce and submit reports to premiums, claims, cost, and the like.Â
- Assist with data collection and dissemination.Â
- Provide employee income verifications as needed.Â
- Assist with all internal and external HR- related inquiries or requests.Â
- Conducts exit interviews.Â
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality always.Â
- Perform duties with excellence and accuracy, following supervisor guidance and maintaining a person- centered approach focused on quality, respect, and professionalism.Â
- Â Complete all orientation, mandatory staff training, and other required coursework as established by agency policy, licensing standards, or supervisory direction.Â
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance, adhering to established agency requirements to ensure continuity of services and operational efficiency.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field, otherwise education with relevant experience will be considered.
- Prior two-years' experience in HR setting.
- Must have access to a telephone.
- Must possess basic knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
- Ability to embrace rapid change, meet multiple demands simultaneously and efficiently with little supervision.
- The ability to clearly communicate in oral and written fashion is required. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
- The HR Administrator may be located in a busy, open area office, and will be faced with regular interruptions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be willing to use personal vehicle when needed for work-related events and must be willing to transport members in personal or company vehicle when needed.
- Have the ability to travel independently, extensively in and outside the community and access a variety of offices.
- Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
- Successfully complete the new hire orientation checklist.
- Satisfactorily attend all required trainings mandated by programming and the organization.
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the initial 30 days of employment, and actively maintain certification throughout employment.
- Must have valid driver's license and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company's insurance.
- Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
