Reports to: EVP, People & Operations  |   Travel: Regular multi-state travel

If you are looking for a rewarding leadership job in a fast-paced, growing company, JB & Associates is a great place for you. We run Buff City Soap and Sun Tan City stores across several states, and we are looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead our facilities and equipment maintenance function. This role is responsible for keeping every location safe, operational, and brand-ready —managing vendors and budgets, overseeing preventive maintenance, and supporting buildouts, renovations and equipment installations. The Maintenance Manager partners closely with field operations, district managers, and ownership to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and on budget as the company continues to scale.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

·      Own the preventive maintenance program for all facilities and equipment, including tanning equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and production/soap-making equipment.

·      Manage the facility work-order/ticket system — prioritize, assign, and track requests from intake through completion, and report on turnaround and open volume.

·      Establish and manage the maintenance budget; control repair and capital spend, review invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities across the portfolio.

·      Source, negotiate with, and manage outside vendors and contractors; hold them to scope, timeline, quality, and cost expectations.

·      Ensure all sites meet safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.

·      Respond to escalated and emergency facility issues, coordinating rapid resolution to minimize downtime and lost revenue.

·      Track equipment lifecycle and warranties; recommend repair-versus-replace decisions and plan capital replacements proactively.

·      Partner with People & Operations and district managers to align maintenance priorities with business and customer-experience goals.

Experience & Qualifications:

·      Strong knowledge of building systems, general repairs, and equipment maintenance; hands-on trade experience is a plus.

·      Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendors, and multiple concurrent projects to on-time, on-budget completion.

·      Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with ownership, operations, trades, and peers.

·      Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and travel regularly across a multi-state market.

·      Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and comfort using work-order/maintenance management software.

·      AI knowledge and/or the willingness to learn.

·      Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and to lift over 50 lbs when required.

·      Ability to work on a ladder.

·      Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Benefits:

·      Health Insurance options (Medical, Dental, Vision)

·      Paid Time Off (PTO)

·      401(k) with Company Match

·      Employee Discounts on Products and Services

·      Professional Development & Training

·      Free Tanning

·      Free Spray Tanning

·      Free Wellness Spa Services
