The Financial Advisor will help shape our Member’s financial futures for each stage in their lives. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Prospecting within the financial institution by establishing relationships with other Member-facing associates to generate referrals. Prospect outside the financial institution to build external referral sources as well as bringing new Members to the Credit Union. Sell effectively by establishing relationships with Members, determining their needs and offering appropriate solutions in a manner that the Member sees the value of, as well as understands the features and benefits of the products offered. Engage in Member relationship management activities to increase wallet share per Member and seek cross referral opportunities to other associates within the Credit Union. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. Attend and engage in coaching and training led by the leadership team and established advisors. Generate Member prospects by attending local events, seminars, joining networking groups, and utilizing online marketing venues, as well as asking for referrals. Develop and execute a marketing plan to attract and engage target audiences that will attract Member prospects. Schedule and conduct financial planning and advice meetings with Members and prospective Members. Build deep, meaningful relationships with Members and develop a service model to provide solutions that support their financial goals. Achieve or exceed program standards. Build a book of business. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Knowledge and Skills: Required Experience: Series 7 and Series 63 Licenses 5-7 years of similar or related experience Preferred Experience: 1-2 years related management experience Education: Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education: A bachelor’s degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree Other Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to quickly compile, verify, and calculate information to provide solutions and recommendations. Product knowledge. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, members, and the public. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in this position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Physical Requirements: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Work Environment: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise. Valid driver’s license required.
