What You’ll Do Own and lead projects executed in automation platforms including PLC, HMI, SCADA, historians, and industrial networks. Collaborate with the Controls Integration Manager and project team to execute control system designs from concept to commissioning. Assist in developing project specifications, estimates, change orders, and schedules. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of project scope and schedule and proactively identify changes. Translate functional requirements into control system configurations and programmable logic. Design network architectures and develop robust control strategies. Provide technical direction and mentorship to less experienced engineers and team members. Work with system vendors to procure equipment and materials as needed. Interface with clients and project managers to deliver timely updates and technical guidance. Conduct system programming, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning, both in-house and at client or partner sites. Deliver technical support and field service for installed control systems and respond to client emergency calls. Review technical documentation including wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs. Assist with the design and layout of electrical control panels and cabinets. Ensure system configurations comply with industry codes, safety standards, and cybersecurity best practices. Adapt quickly to new technologies and apply learned concepts to system design and implementation. QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electronics & Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 6+ years in controls engineering, automation, or industrial system integration. Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Modicon/Schneider/Control Expert/M580). Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, Wonderware System Platform, FactoryTalk View). Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPCUA, MQTT). Knowledge of industrial automation standards (UL 508A, NFPA 79, ISO 13849, IEC 61131). Familiarity with relational databases preferred (DB2, SQL). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Working Conditions The position requires work in an office environment with occasional light travel for installation and commissioning.
