JOB DESCRIPTION – Systems and Technology Manager
Â
Arise Homes is a Arise Homes is a growing residential homebuilder seeking a business systems leader who can also own the hands-on IT infrastructure of a fast-moving company. This person will own the technology ecosystem end to end — from the ERP and business systems that connect Purchasing, Estimating, Construction, Sales, Warranty, and Accounting, to the computers, Microsoft environment, email, and network infrastructure our team relies on every day.
This is deliberately a broad, builder-style role. On any given week you may be scoping an integration between our ERP and an estimating tool, sitting with the Purchasing team to fix a bad PO workflow, standing up a laptop for a new Superintendent, and negotiating a vendor renewal. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable at the whiteboard and at the help desk, and who wants to build the technology foundation of a homebuilder rather than inherit one.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
1. ERP & Business Systems Ownership
- Serve as the system owner and internal administrator/implementor for the company ERP.
- Maintain core configuration: user roles and permissions, security groups, workflow rules, approval routing, cost codes, option/SKU structures, vendor and community setup.
- Own master data governance — cost code structure, item/SKU catalogs, vendor records, plan and elevation data — including standards, ownership, and cleanup.
- Manage releases, patches, sandbox testing, and change control; validate updates before they reach production.
- Build and maintain reporting and dashboards for department leaders and ownership (job cost, purchase variance, cycle time, starts and closings).
2. Cross-Departmental Integration & Process Improvement
- Map current-state workflows across Land Development, Estimating, Purchasing, Construction, Sales, Design Studio, Warranty, and Accounting; identify handoff breakdowns, duplicate data entry, and manual workarounds.
- Design and implement integrations between the ERP and surrounding systems – CRM, estimating/takeoff, scheduling, accounting, e-signature, document management, design studio, and trade partner portals.
3. IT Infrastructure & End-User Support
- Own the Microsoft 365 environment: Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, licensing, and tenant security settings.
- Manage the full hardware lifecycle for 40+ employees – procurement, imaging, deployment, asset tracking, refresh planning, and secure disposal of all physical assets.
- Manage and secure the company’s IT infrastructure, including user accounts and access, MFA, email and phishing security, endpoint protection, patching, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN, and remote access across the corporate office, sales office and model homes.
- Provide hands-on IT support and oversee system security and continuity, including employee onboarding/offboarding, help desk support, backup and disaster recovery, security awareness training, and incident response.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years of progressive experience spanning both business systems/ERP administration and hands-on IT infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ownership of an ERP or core business system – configuration, administration, and at least one full implementation or major upgrade.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Windows endpoint management, and small-business networking.
- Proven ability to gather requirements from non-technical users and translate them into working system solutions.
- Experience Managing technology vendors, contracts, and budgets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain technical decisions to field superintendents and to ownership with equal clarity.
- Comfortable operating as a team of one – setting priorities independently and moving between strategic planning and hands-on troubleshooting in the same day.
- Preferred experience in residential homebuilding, construction, or real estate development.
- Hands-on experience with a homebuilder ERP preferred.
