Electronics Assembly Technician

Join our fast-paced production team supporting the assembly and integration of radio and electronic components used in advanced aviation and communications systems. The Electronics Assembly Technician is responsible for building circuit boards, cables, wire harnesses, mechanical assemblies, and other electronic subassemblies in accordance with engineering documentation, production procedures, and applicable workmanship standards.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role for someone who enjoys working with electronics, small components, hand tools, and detailed assembly processes. The ideal candidate is dependable, quality-focused, comfortable working in a production environment, and able to maintain consistent productivity while meeting established schedules and delivery requirements.

Shift Flexibility

Shift flexibility is highly valued for this position. Candidates who are available to work any assigned shift are strongly preferred, as production schedules and business needs may vary. Flexibility to support different shifts, overtime, or schedule adjustments when needed is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components for radio and communications products on a fast-paced production line.
• Build circuit boards, cables, wire harnesses, modules, and other electronic subassemblies using engineering drawings, assembly instructions, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Cut wire and vinyl tubing to specified lengths according to assembly documentation.
• Operate wire crimping tools and inspect terminals and connections to ensure proper crimp quality.
• Perform hand soldering and other soldering operations in accordance with established workmanship standards.
• Insert and install electronic components onto printed circuit boards using approved assembly procedures.
• Install connectors while verifying correct polarity, orientation, pinouts, and component placement.
• Use solder pots for pre-tinning components and parts when required.
• Combine sheet metal, printed circuit boards, cables, harnesses, and other components to produce completed modules and assemblies.
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with engineering documentation, quality requirements, and applicable workmanship standards.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and follow established manufacturing and quality procedures.
• Meet established production schedules and completion targets to support on-time product delivery.
• Identify assembly, documentation, material, or process issues and communicate them to the appropriate Supervisor or support personnel.
• Initiate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) through the appropriate process with Supervisor approval when process or documentation changes are identified.
• Participate in continuous improvement and quality improvement initiatives to improve production processes, product quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while properly caring for company equipment, tools, and other assets.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 18 months of hands-on electronics assembly or related manufacturing experience.
• Experience working with hand tools and small electronic components.
• Ability to consistently follow detailed work instructions, procedures, and established production processes.
• Ability to work independently while also taking direction and collaborating effectively with team members.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work in a production environment.
• Ability to meet established production schedules and deadlines.

Preferred

• Experience with IPC-A-610 or equivalent electronics workmanship standards.
• Previous experience with soldering, wire harness assembly, cable assembly, or PCB assembly.
• Experience using wire crimpers, soldering irons, solder pots, hand tools, or other electronics assembly equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
• Experience working in aerospace, aviation, defense, electronics manufacturing, radio, telecommunications, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements and work with small components and hand tools.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods during the production shift.
• Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail while performing repetitive and precision assembly tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and meeting production schedules.
• Vision must be correctable to a level that allows the employee to safely and accurately perform required assembly and inspection tasks.
• Ability and willingness to work assigned shifts and provide schedule flexibility based on production requirements is strongly preferred.
