Warehouse-Material Handler (SWC - Operations)

Warehouse - Material Handler – Hourly
Reports To:  Regional Manager
 

Primary Role: Leads and controls activities of company warehouse. Ensure shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution are performed in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports. Ensures warehouse and shipping/receiving activities comply with SWC policies. Coordinates returned and repaired equipment requirements.  Coordinates receiving, purchasing entries into the accounting system.  Assists office personnel and other administrative functions as directed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for ensuring the quantity and quality of incoming equipment.
  2. Ensure that incoming equipment is properly received, unpacked and stored.
  3. Maintain efficient inventory tracking system.
  4. Maintain minimum stock orders.
  5. Performs inventory counts to assure accuracy of current monitoring system.
  6. Monitor the return of unused job-related inventory to vendor or stock.
  7. Completes and submits warehouse documents and reports.
  8. Responsible for providing monthly inventory reports to management.
  9. Maintain accurate list of all tools and equipment.
  10. Ensure warehouse area is clean, neat and maintained in an organized manner.
  11. Notify Project Manager when order is completely received in warehouse.
  12. Stage and document equipment to allow efficient loading by field staff.
  13. Performs quarterly, year-end inventory counts and variance discrepancies.
  14. Tracks and maintains returns and repairs.
  15. Assists in administrative tasks as required by Regional Manager.
  16. Assists office staff as needed.
  17. Ensure safety procedures are followed in the warehouse.
  18. Other duties as required or assigned by company management.
  19. Material purchasing for projects within northern region.
  20. Maintenance of scanning and filing on shared drive.
  21. Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail/packages.
  22. Coordinate building maintenance.
  23. Order office and kitchen supplies
  24. Receive, scan, and document barcoded materials returned from project sites.
  25. Serve as Safety Coordinator, promoting and maintaining workplace safety compliance.
  26. Maintain inventory levels of shop supplies and reorder as needed.
  27. Manage and maintain inventory records within Smartsheet.
  28. Prepare and submit monthly UIM reports.
  29. Oversee daily operations and inventory management for the Columbia warehouse.
  30. Maintain Columbia Warehouse Operations if Warehouse person is out.
  31. Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely availability of required materials.
  32. Conduct vehicle inspections, including inventory verification and safety checks.

Accountability:  The Warehouse – Material Handler will be accountable to the Regional Manager.  Secondary accountability will be to the other management, team members and customers of the company.

Qualifications:  The Warehouse – Material Handler shall possess a minimum of two to three years’ experience in a warehouse environment.  Excellent leadership and team development skills. High School Diploma or equivalent. Above average computer skills. Strong written and verbal communication.  This person must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people.

Travel: Minimal, some off-site training to be performed.

    3. Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
    4. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    5. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
    6. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
    7. Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
    8. Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
    9. Valid and current driver’s license.       

10. Forklift experience is a plus                                                                                                                                                              

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

  1. Team Member is required to intermittently (25%-50%) remain stationary, move about inside or outside the office or warehouse, operate transport vehicles, ascend/descend, stoop, kneel, lift, grasp, carry, communication, detect, convey, perceive, judge and be exposed to the environment.

2. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
