SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager applies a proactive approach to operational, and logistical support for the JCC’s impactful initiatives. This includes but is not limited to J Life (Jewish Life), Arts Enrichment, J NEXT (Adults), and other large scale community events. This role helps manage systems and support the execution of events and community engagement efforts that advance the JCC’s strategic goals. These logistics will include enrollment, procurement, event flow, communication, etc.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and energized by turning systems into well-executed programs. The role requires strong follow-through, comfort with systems and data tracking, and the ability to support multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Support logistics including scheduling, room setup, supplies, vendor coordination, staffing needs, and communications
  • Maintain program data including attendance tracking
  • Support preparation of post event reports
  • Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, reimbursements, and basic financial documentation for assigned initiatives
  • Help maintain organized systems for calendars, files, documentation, and project tracking
  • Provide on-site support for select programs, events, and community engagement initiatives
  • Perform other related administrative and operational duties as assigned

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Experience in administrative support, program coordination, operations, or event logistics preferred
  • Comfort working with data systems and willingness to learn tools such as Salesforce or similar platforms
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends based on program needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in nonprofit management, Jewish communal service, arts administration, or related field preferred

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time while performing administrative tasks or supporting programs
  • The work environment may include occasional fast-paced, high-traffic program or event settings
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • The role requires frequent interaction with staff, community members, and program participants
  • The workspace may be busy and at times noisy during program and event operations

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary (or Salary Range): $18/hour- 20/hour commensurate with experience
