Senior Accountant/Accounting Supervisor

ABOUT THE COMPANY


We are seeking a talented Senior Accountant for a small to midsized Minneapolis based non-profit. This organization has an excellent culture and exceptional benefits. They are looking for the right person to be a part of this collaborative team. This is a hybrid position with 2 days per week from home.

Senior Accountant is responsible for:

Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
Handle month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital.
Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to monthly close process.
Establish, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
Other ad hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting
3+ years of relevant Accounting experience in a Non-Profit environment
Financial statement preparation experience
Team player, willingness to do what it takes to support team and organizational goals
Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills; ability to effectively communicate across organizational boundaries
Strong systems skills
