Visiting Faculty to teach Business Computing (CSE 148) on a per-course basis during the 2025-2026 Spring semester. Course assignments are made on a semester basis. Courses are taught in person only.

Job Description

CSE 148 is an introduction to business-oriented computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and SQL (structured query language). Extensive hands-on use of electronic spreadsheets and database software by students. Examples and exercises will stress problem-solving in a business context.  Appointment begins January 2026.

Each semester, the department offers 25 to 30 sections of the Business Computing course that is taken primarily by students in degree programs offered by the Farmer School of Business.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field or Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of significant professional experience working with the relevant application(s) in a professional environment, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Consideration may be given to candidates with prior experience in teaching courses related to business and/or computing.
