Job Summary:
Coordinates day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of a defined, program or set of funded activities. Programs are usually focused to a single purpose, may be scientific, research, educational, or service oriented, and may exist as a subset of an integrated funded program activity. Duties typically include assisting with grant planning and administration, fiscal, budgetary, and/or other associated transactions, program implementation and administration, internal and external operational/administrative liaison, program marketing, and reporting.Job Description:
- Assists in managing daily operations of the projects, programs or office to which assigned.
- Establishes and/or maintains a recordkeeping system for programs, projects or office to which assigned and enters data into records or into system databases as appropriate and as needed.

Department Summary
The Center for Mathematics and Science Education, a center within the University of Mississippi School of Education, works to improve mathematics and science education in Mississippi by fostering interaction between academic and K-12 communities, supporting the implementation of research-based methods in the classroom, and promoting interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Through collaborative efforts the CMSE provides professional development for K-12 math & science teachers and provides opportunities for K-12 students to engage in the STEM fields. The CMSE fosters a continuous learning community within the department by working across the Professional Learning and K-12 STEM Experiences Divisions. We engage both undergraduate and graduate students in the work of the CMSE.
Role Summary
The CMSE’s K-12 STEM Experiences Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and leading the K-12 STEM Experiences provided by the CMSE including but not limited to the Mobile Planetarium Shows, Stream Table Demonstrations, STEM Exposure field trips for K-12 students and STEM-focused academic competitions.

Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Coordinating, creating, and leading K-12 STEM-themed field trips to the campus of the University of Mississippi;
• Facilitating and coordinating the mobile planetarium program for schools and
community partners;
• Coordinating STEM experiences at partner schools and community events;
• Assisting with the logistics for the Mississippi FTC Robotics Program competitions and the MATHCOUNTS competition;
• Presenting opportunities to teachers and communities at conference booths and presentations.
