The Technician II is responsible for using their technical skills and know-how to keep production equipment in excellent condition. Specific responsibilities include preventative maintenance, calibration, repair, and qualification of tools and equipment. The technician will work in a cleanroom environment on types of equipment including but not limited to: Ultra-high vacuum chambers, physical vapor deposition (PVD), vacuum pumps, electronics, and automation. The ideal candidate will be able to perform quality work in a fast-paced, advanced technology production department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks including disassembly, mechanical and chemical cleaning, reassembly, and testing/qualification.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic equipment such as pumps, gauges, power supplies, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the production process, and assist operators when required.
  • Keep accurate, detailed notes and records and all documentation related to completed work.
  • Perform basic fabrication (Drilling, tapping, etc.)
  • Temporarily operate production tools during times of high need.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in hands-on role of technical nature such as trade position or machine operator.
  • Ability to learn quickly and handle a large range of equipment types.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work with small, fragile parts and to use fine manipulation tools such as tweezers and vacuum pens.
  • Experience and understanding of basic chemical safety.
  • Basic ability to use computers (email, websites)
  • Very good attention to detail.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience and understanding of basic chemical safety.
  • Able to lift items with weight of 35lbs a few times per day, able to lift items with weight of 50+lbs occasionally.
  • Able to stand for between 50-90% of the working day.
  • Ability to wear respirator and pass respirator fit test.
  • Ability to wear all other PPE required of the role.
  • Must be available for first shift, typically 5:30AM to 2:30PM. Some flexibility is possible.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating or maintaining vacuum systems (preferably ultra-high vacuum).
  • Experience with PVD or other deposition techniques.
  • Experience as a technician or similar role.
  • HS Diploma, Associate Degree, Technical Certificate, or Apprenticeship
