Job Summary

 

  • Assemble and troubleshoot fiber lasers
  • Set up and run oscilloscope and/or other analytical instrumentation
  • Perform splicing of fibers and soldering of electrical components
  • Perform optical and electrical tests and measurements
  • Properly record information
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics
  • Must be organized, energetic, reliable, timely and detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Data entry skills
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma (Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Science or Engineering preferred), or 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Ability to work with small parts for extended periods for time (i.e. under a microscope or working with fibers)
  • Familiar with spectroscopy, microscopy, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, photo-detectors, optical spectrum analyzers, and other similar test equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics.
  • Data entry skills, Basic Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with laser diodes, solid-state or fiber lasers, electrical signal registration and measurement is preferred
  • Experience handling precision opto-mechanical components preferred
