Performs complex repair or construction of university facilities or property which require specialized training in a skilled trade (Automobile Technician) 2nd shift Mon through Fri, 3:30pm to 11:30pm

Job Description

Essential Duties

  • Reviews job orders; inspects site and consults with client; determines best method to complete project.
  • Estimates amount of materials and equipment needed to complete project; prepares cost estimates; arranges for materials to be at job site.
  • Performs complex repair or installation on University facilities equipment using expertise acquired through specialized Automotive/Mechanic training.
  • Serve as informational resource to other staff.
  • Maintains and cleans tools and equipment; maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • May serve as liaison to outside contractors and other departments; may prepare some paperwork; may maintain some files

Minimum Qualifications

Requires nine months training beyond high school in a skilled trade and three years of experience in that trade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Driver's license required.

  • Knowledge of the procedures and equipment of a particular skilled trade
