The opening is to support engineering, ensure components are reliable and effective, find alternate sources and track component qualifications. Responsible for strategic sourcing and establishes standards for components with development teams.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Review BOM’s for obsolescence. Support design teams in the selection of electronic components. Drive qualifications of EOL/Obsolete component solutions. Investigate and promote alternative solutions. Facilitate communication and interactions between suppliers and design teams. Conduct failure analysis/corrective action with suppliers. Assist in identifying and resolving manufacturing problems. Manage approved vendor list. Manage / create standard processes where needed. Conduct part lifecycle analysis. Flag in-accurate component specification data and correct it. Minimum Qualifications Areas of experience include; Applications engineer, Distribution or Technical Sales. Applicant should understand the basic operation concepts of electrical components. Applicant should be able to compare physical and operational differences between parts. Obsolescence tracking and avoidance using software-based tools. Desired Qualifications Applicant should be able to manage part qualification efforts. Help in defining test methods, reporting and tracking. Experience working with external vendors. Communicating specifications and finding alternate solutions. Tracking work progress and reporting on status. Education Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Major Electrical Engineering Minimum Years of Experience 5-10 years  Language Skills Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents; such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Have ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Able to speak effectively before groups, customers, and/or employees of the organization.  Mathematical Skills Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. May need to draw and interpret graphs.  Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
