Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Oxnard Mill - Oxnard, CA 93033Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Bachelor'sSalary Range: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 Salary/yearTravel Percentage: Less than 10%Job Shift: M-F 8 hours per dayJob Category: ManufacturingSummary:  The Maintenance Planner at New-Indy, Oxnard is responsible for the safe and efficient planning of all maintenance work activities in their areas.  Essential Functions of the Job: Embed safety into every job plan, identifying hazards and required permits (LOTO, confined space, hot work) and documenting safety requirements. Review approved work orders for completeness, return incomplete requests, and maintain a clean prioritized planning backlog. Perform field walk-downs to define scope, labor, materials, tools, access requirements, and operational constraints. Develop detailed job plans including scope, job steps, labor estimates, crafts, parts, tools, support equipment, drawings, manuals, and photos. Prepare complete job packages and ensure all work reaches Ready-to-Work status before scheduling. Provide labor estimates and craft requirements to support realistic scheduling. Identify stock and non-stock material requirements, create purchase requisitions, improve Bills of Material (BOMs), and partner with the storeroom to improve inventory accuracy. Maintain a 2–3 week planning horizon, lead weekly planning meetings, and participate in scheduling meetings. Collect execution feedback and continuously improve job plans, PMs, estimates, and BOMs to reduce rework and increase wrench time. Support reliability initiatives, RCAs, engineering documentation, vendors/OEMs, shutdown planning, and critical maintenance events. Maintain high-quality CMMS (Maximo) data and ensure work orders are properly updated and closed. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job is not a supervisory position. QualificationsQualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology or related field, or equivalent maintenance planning experience. Minimum 4 years in heavy industrial maintenance. Other skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite with strong aptitude for Projects Strong understanding of computerized maintenance management systems such as Maximo. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude Must be able to work independently Well-developed people practice, including strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build lasting relationships, provide recognition and demonstrate integrity and high personal standards.   Competencies: Detail Orientated, Command Skills, Mechanical or Electrical Aptitude, Managerial Courage, Problem Solving, Organizational Skill Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Occasionally the employee is exposed to the Mill work environment which can be hot, and the noise level is loud. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (80+dB). Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions Occasionally exposed to loud, moving equipment [Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] such as: hard hat, steel toed boots, gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection].
