If you’re looking to build a meaningful career with a team that values integrity, accountability, and opportunity, we invite you to explore what it’s like to grow with Golden West Packaging Group  Role and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Operations, supervises yard personnel to meet or exceed established objectives in the following areas: safety, employee satisfaction, productivity, continuous improvement, quality, spending, waste reduction and any other area(s) identified by the plant leadership team. Provides guidance to department personnel ensuring a safe work environment. Perform assignments related to shift supervision while resolving problems and providing direction for the shift. Verifies the quality of work through periodic monitoring of products and troubleshooting processes. Supports and participates in CI initiatives.  Major Responsibilities: Maintains a positive and professional attitude that reflects the company’s commitment to safety, employee satisfaction, quality, and continuous improvement. Monitors and maintains department safety efforts and provides direction for safety improvements and ergonomic concerns. Conducts routine safety audits and incident investigations. Directs and coordinates the activities for plant personnel in coordination with the Plant Manager’s instructions. Ensures quality control processes & procedures are always followed to ensure product quality Investigate and fill out all forms relating to an incident, quality, PONC and customer action requirement (CAR). Follows and maintains systems and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality WI and those within ISO standards. Maintains production control records and provides information to management regarding delivery dates, schedules, and operating problems. Monitors performance against established targets. Manages internal customer/supplier relationships with all other departments. Manages projects as assigned. Identifies opportunities for improvement. Establishes staffing levels. Monitors internal quality data and provides direction for corrective action. Trains and develops department personnel. Takes all necessary actions to manage production costs and improve operational unit EBITA. Advises management on capital improvements needed to increase company productivity. Informs the Plant Manager and Department Managers of equipment and production problems and coordinates repairs.  Other responsibilities and tasks as appropriate to achieve company initiatives. Approves employees time records using time and attendance time system. Assist Plant manager with performance appraisals. Utilize production software as needed: Job costing PDE Inventory Sustain a PONC record of .10% of manufactured sales. Work with maintenance department to ensure machine PMs are completed in a timely manner. Use OEMs as necessary. Ensure that employees are trained on how to complete their PM’s Enforce completion of PMs and ensure completion rate is within 90% Ensure that all necessary parts are in stock and readily available based on OEM recommendations (i.e. necessary belts) follow up with maintenance on repairs. Alternate work hours as needed to accommodate training needs on various shifts.  California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is an Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data. QualificationsEducation & Work Experience 4 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred or 5-years’ experience in manufacturing with supervisory experience will be considered. Proven track record of success managing a multi department production group. Mechanical aptitude and solid understanding of high volume fast paced manufacturing a must. Knowledge of flexo printing and die cut converting very helpful. Must have interpersonal skills. Skills & Qualifications Team problem solving; facilitation. Computer literate: MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel required, MS Project or other project management software a plus. Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
