The Packaging Engineer provides innovative packaging solutions for large machinery and components that are distributed to national and international customers.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Add Essential Duties and Responsibilities according to position. Develop and design solutions for packaging Haas machines and accessories for shipping. Follow direction of the management team to ensure proper design protocols and procedures are followed. Effectively communicate reasoning behind design decisions. Remain up to date on new packaging trends, materials, and technology. Create, administer, and implement Engineering Change Requests. Maintain a task schedule and hold deadlines. Take full ownership of assigned projects. • Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc. • Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies. Qualifications Qualifications To perform this job successfully the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty adequately. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering, industrial design, or related field. Must understand the entire design process from concept, prototype, testing, and production. Desired Qualifications 1 to 3 years’ experience in the design of packaging for national and international shipping. Education Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Major Industrial Engineering Packaging Science Manufacturing Engineering Minimum Years of Experience 0-1 year  Language Skills Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations in English. Must be able to write analytical and/or technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and create instructional reference material. Able to speak effectively before groups, customers, employees of the organization and/or the general public.  Mathematical Skills Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must have the ability to apply concepts of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.  Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking as well as work with a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
