Yard Hand

We are seeking a reliable Yard Hand to support yard operations, including loading/unloading, cargo handling, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment. This is a temporary position of up to three months, with the potential for full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and unloading trucks and flatbed trailers.
• Load and unload cargo units safely and efficiently.
• Organize yard space according to the established layout plan.
• Observe forklift operations and ensure safe rigging practices prior to lifts.
• Report any safety or rigging concerns to the Yard Operator or Supervisor.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on yard equipment as needed.
• Monitor chemical pad and container conditions and report any issues.
• Initiate spill response procedures during spills or drills.
• Support cycle counting of outside inventory.
• Communicate using standard hand signals in yard operations.
• Maintain constant awareness of safety hazards and operational risks.
• Forklift experience is required.

  • Knowledge of safe forklift operations
