POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Engineering Tech position requires a vast background in high-end automation troubleshooting and programming to ensure industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably. The Technician regularly inspects buildings, equipment, and techniques to identify any issues, repairs faulty equipment and damaged structures, and performs preventative maintenance as needed. The Technician troubleshoots and makes repairs based on working knowledge of complex automation systems and has working knowledge of Industrial Robotics Systems with the ability to learn modern technologies that are implemented in the future. Technicians will also build a strong working knowledge of the existing Fiber Laser Cutting Systems, Automated Powder Paint Application System, and numerous types of PLC controlled equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Troubleshoots and programs complex electrical systems.

  • Utilizes mechanical, electrical, and controls schematics.

  • Troubleshoots complex Automation Control Systems.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs complex pneumatic systems.

  • Repairs and maintains building systems.

  • Performs preventive maintenance as required.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Associates degree or 3+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Background and understanding of complex electrical systems.

  • Ability to read and use Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Schematics

  • Experience in troubleshooting complex Automation Control Systems

  • Working knowledge of Industrial Robotics Systems

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex pneumatic systems

  • Have a solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems

  • Must have extensive knowledge of Automation Control Systems

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex Automation Controls Systems

  • Strong working knowledge of AC and DC Electrical systems

  • Industrial Robotics experience, preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work, walking and standing

  • Occasional lifting up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

  • Ability to stoop, crawl, or kneel while working on equipment

  • Ability to work at heights higher than floor level

  • Ability to stand for extended amounts of time

Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
