San Juan Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager who brings together operational excellence, a talent for mentorship, and a commitment to team culture. The ideal candidate will have prior veterinary experience and a proven background in leadership, training, and team development—paired with a business-minded approach to hospital growth.

As our Hospital Manager, you’ll work closely with the Medical Director and leadership team, taking ownership of daily operations and guiding our hospital toward continued success.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Financial Leadership: Monitor hospital performance, manage budgets, oversee payroll and financial operations, and drive business growth through data-informed decisions.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure efficient workflow, maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), manage equipment and inventory, and implement hospital policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Direction: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute long-term goals, expand services, and support referral and business partnerships.
  • Project & Facility Management: Lead day-to-day operations, scheduling, and maintenance while aligning administrative functions with overall hospital objectives.
  • Client & Community Engagement: Oversee marketing strategies, resolve client concerns, enhance client experience, and foster retention and growth.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and support department leads, oversee hiring and development, maintain staffing levels, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Schedule, benefits and compensation**:

This is a full-time, salaried position and schedule flexibility is required based on business needs.

  • Compensation: $59,000-65,000 annual base salary
  • Bi-annual bonus opportunities: Based on hospital performance
  • Hiring bonus package: $2000 based on credentials
  • Relocation bonus considered

Your Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Business Management experience required 
  • Veterinary hospital management or medical/dental office management experience preferred
  • Previous experience within a veterinary hospital preferred (e.g. veterinary technician or veterinary receptionist) including both large and small animal medicine
  • Bachelor's degree, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficient with business software and able to adapt quickly to new systems.
