2nd Shift Machinist

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for running and inspecting complex components for preset operations. Operator must be proficient in blueprint reading, inspection methodologies, and have some manufacturing experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilizes various types of manual, numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment to perform machining operations on all types of materials.
- Works from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including but not limited to verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints; performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds, and feeds of machining.
- Uses a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings.Â
- Operates a variety of machines including but not limited to lathes, mills, and precision grinders to perform multiple machining operations and ensure the proper utilization of equipment and material.
- Adjusts machine tooling and machine offsets as required; checks each component for accuracy after adjustment.
- Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, and techniques.
- Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations.
- Provides all required reports and/or correspondence.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
 QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills required:
- Manufacturing Software;Â
- Spreadsheet Software (Excel);Â
- Word Processing Software (Word);Â
- Electronic Mail Software (Outlook);Â
- Other skills required:Â
- Knowledge of proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.
- Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. micrometers) to take accurate measurements.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Mathematical skills and analytical abilities.

- Must be able to distinguish and differentiate between colors used during the product acceptance or certification process.
