Job DetailsJob Location: AM Palatine - Palatine, IL 60074Salary Range: $15.00 - $20.00 HourlyJob Summary We are seeking a reliable and versatile Maintenance/Handyman to oversee the general upkeep of our dealership's building and grounds. This role ensures that our facility remains safe, functional, and welcoming for every guest who walks through our doors. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a broad range of mechanical and repair skills. Key Responsibilities • Facility Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and minor repairs, including fixing door locks, replacing ceiling tiles, and repairing drywall. • Systems Upkeep: Handle basic plumbing (fixing leaks, unclogging drains) and minor electrical tasks such as replacing light bulbs or outlets. • Grounds & Exterior: Maintain the professional appearance of the lot by managing landscaping, collecting trash, and performing seasonal upkeep like snow removal or power washing. • Vehicle Support: Conduct "light" maintenance on dealership inventory, such as checking tire pressure, topping off fluids, and ensuring cars on display are clean and functional. • Safety Compliance: Inspect fire alarms and emergency exits to ensure the facility meets all safety standards. • Vendor Coordination: Identify major issues that require licensed contractors and help coordinate their site visits. QualificationsSkills and Qualifications • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related trade. • Technical Knowledge: Basic proficiency in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions. • License: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required for moving vehicles on the lot. • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
