Job DetailsJob Location: Chevy - Wheeling, IL 60090Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 Hourly Job Title: Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator Job Status: Part Time – Exempt Division: Administration Primary Work Location: Chevy Chase Country Club Reports To: Superintendent of Marketing and Communications Supervisory Responsibility: None Position Summary The Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for assisting the District with their marketing and communication efforts and initiatives, including photo/video creation, digital and print marketing distribution, community outreach, and sponsorship support. The normal workweek will consist of 20 – 29 hours per week and shall be designated by the Superintendent of Marketing and Communications as necessary. The hours will vary and will include nights and weekends to support marketing efforts. Essential Job Duties Assist content creation by producing photography and video content for future use, including during special events, programs and activities. Assist in the development and management of digital marketing including social media posts/events, email generation, and online listings. Assist with the printing, cutting, folding, scoring, and placement of Park District promotional presentations and displays. Assist with the distribution of marketing materials to the surrounding community. Provide support for special events and programs including, but not limited to setting up marketing booth/table, attending outreach events, setting up printed material (e.g. roadside banners, A-Frames, yard signs, directional signage, stage banners, window-clings, acrylic signs, and sign-holders). Provide support for the sponsorship efforts of the District, working closely with multiple District staff to meet sponsorship goals. Attends all meetings when appropriate. Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules. Participates in required training and safety programs as established by the Wheeling Park District. Supports and exhibits the organizational values of respect, communication, integrity, innovation, recognition and appreciation, continuous learning, fun, empowerment and people. Performs special projects or other duties as assigned. Position Requirements H.S. Diploma accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. Current college or university student from an accredited U.S. Department of Education Higher Education institution in the field of Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, and/or Graphic Design. Skills and Abilities Demonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival. Must be able to read, write and speak in English. Bilingual in Spanish, Russian, Korean or Hindi is a plus. CPR/AED certification or be able to earn within 60 days. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Possess creativity, enthusiasm, leadership traits and the ability to express thoughts clearly. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision, to solve problems and produce work on a timely basis. Demonstrated initiative, dependability, good judgment, tact, analytical skills, leadership, management activities and the capability to work in a positive manner with the general public, Park District staff and Board of Commissioners. Working Conditions Most activities will be performed indoors. Driving to other park facilities will require the worker to be outside. Employee may be exposed to cleaning agents and toner chemicals.
