Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Integrity/ Structural Engineer with a strong background in nuclear systems and turbomachinery to support the analysis, design, and life assessment of high-performance mechanical components operating in extreme environments. This role focuses on advanced thermal-structural analysis, materials behavior, and code-compliant integrity assessments to ensure safe, reliable, and optimized designs.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to interpret analysis results, recommend design improvements, and support material selection and qualification for high-temperature and high-stress applications.


Key Responsibilities

Structural & Mechanical Integrity Analysis
路聽 聽 聽 聽Perform thermal-structural, transient structural, modal, and seismic analyses of mechanical components and assemblies
路聽 聽 聽 聽Conduct low-cycle fatigue, creep, fracture mechanics, and crack growth assessments
路聽 聽 聽 聽Evaluate mechanical integrity of components subjected to high temperature, pressure, and cyclic loading
路聽 聽 聽 聽Assess and design bolted joints for structural integrity and fatigue performance
Materials & Constitutive Modeling
路聽 聽 聽 聽Develop and implement constitutive material models for high-temperature and time-dependent behavior
路聽 聽 聽 聽Support material testing and characterization, including interpretation of experimental data
路聽 聽 聽 聽Recommend and justify material selection based on operating conditions, degradation mechanisms, and code requirements
Codes, Standards & Compliance
路聽 聽 聽 聽Perform assessments in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and applicable nuclear or industry standards
路聽 聽 聽 聽Support regulatory, safety, and design review processes through rigorous documentation and technical justification
Simulation & Automation
路聽 聽 聽 聽Build, troubleshooting and execute finite element models
路聽 聽 聽 聽Develop post-processing automation tools to efficiently extract, process, and visualize results
路聽 聽 聽 聽Ensure modeling assumptions and results are technically sound and clearly communicated
Technical Communication & Design Support
路聽 聽 聽 聽Document analysis methods, assumptions, results, and conclusions in clear, professional reports
路聽 聽 聽 聽Interpret simulation results and recommend appropriate design improvements
路聽 聽 聽 聽Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and materials teams to support product development and issue resolution

Required Qualifications

路聽 聽 聽 聽Bachelor鈥檚 or Master鈥檚 degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

路聽 聽 聽 聽Strong experience in structural mechanics and mechanical integrity assessments

路聽 聽 聽 聽Hands-on experience with industry software (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.)

路聽 聽 聽 聽Solid understanding of high-temperature materials behavior, fatigue, creep, and fracture mechanics

路聽 聽 聽 聽Experience applying ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements

路聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to clearly document and communicate complex technical results

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams

Preferred / Plus Qualifications

路聽 聽 聽 Experience in nuclear systems, turbomachinery, or other safety-critical industries
路聽 聽 聽 Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant discipline
路聽 聽 聽 Experience with seismic qualification or nuclear design methodologies
路聽 聽 聽 Background in automation or scripting for analysis post-processing (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
路聽 聽 聽 Familiarity with component life management or structural health monitoring
