Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinic Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations and patient flow of our Palm Springs clinic. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and provides daily supervision, guidance, and support to the Medical Assistant and Front Desk teams.


The Clinic Team Lead will be responsible for ensuring the clinic operates efficiently and that patients receive timely, professional, and courteous service from check-in through check-out. This individual will actively monitor clinic flow throughout the day, ensure patients are checked in and roomed in a timely manner, monitor wait times, and address workflow delays or bottlenecks as they occur.


Key responsibilities include supervising Front Desk and Medical Assistant staff, monitoring staff performance and daily responsibilities, ensuring appropriate copays, deductibles, and other patient-responsibility amounts are collected, monitoring the patient schedule, coordinating communication between staff and providers, and ensuring established clinic policies and procedures are followed.


The Team Lead will assist with staff training and onboarding, monitor attendance and punctuality, address routine operational and patient-service concerns, and promptly communicate significant or recurring issues to the Director of Operations.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate must be comfortable maintaining an active presence throughout the clinic, providing staff direction and accountability, assisting the team when needed, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and the overall patient experience.


The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, proactive, professional, and able to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced healthcare environment. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of clinic operations, leads by example, supports the team, and helps ensure our patients receive an efficient and positive experience at every visit.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a medical office, outpatient clinic, primary care practice, or similar healthcare setting.
  • Previous Team Lead, Lead Medical Assistant, Front Office Lead, Supervisor, or healthcare management experience strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration, medical assisting, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical office operations and patient flow.
  • Experience supervising, training, coaching, or providing direction to Front Desk and/or Medical Assistant staff.
  • Knowledge of patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, copays, deductibles, and patient collections.
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and respond quickly to changing clinic needs.
  • Ability to identify workflow delays and take appropriate action to maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Professional, dependable, punctual, and able to lead by example.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and providing a positive patient experience.
  • Ability to appropriately handle patient concerns and difficult situations in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, administrative staff, and the Director of Operations.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and maintaining an active presence throughout the clinic.
