One of our clients, a well-established and growing law firm in Los Angeles, California, is seeking an Employment Plaintiff Attorney with 1–3 years of employment law experience to join their litigation team.

Position Overview

The Employment Plaintiff Attorney will handle a variety of employment law matters on behalf of employees, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and other workplace disputes. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong analytical, writing, and advocacy skills who is eager to manage cases from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of employment litigation matters.
  • Represent employees in claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and related employment law issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties and witnesses.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses.
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement opportunities.
  • Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings as needed.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and ensure compliance with litigation deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
  • 1–3 years of employment law litigation experience.
  • Experience handling employment matters from inception through resolution.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience representing plaintiffs in employment litigation.
  • Experience taking or defending depositions.
  • Trial preparation experience.
  • Experience attending mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Familiarity with legal case management and document management software.
