Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Manager of Industrial Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse, individuals for a position for F-35. The position will be located in Palmdale, California.

This role is leading an industrial engineering team that is focused on developing and sustaining IEOM principles on established and developmental work.  They will sit on the program leadership team and will guide the implementation of new production performance measurement tools, metrics, and processes with their peer and senior leaders.

 Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • This manager will lead industrial engineers
  • Provide technical and leadership support to the Industrial Engineering team on a production line.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and tactical actions that deliver results to improve program cost and schedule performance. Ensure program milestones and performance goals are achieved.
  • Deliver on short-term, high visibility program requests, while creating a vision and executing a long-term strategy to influence change within and outside the organization.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team of industrial engineers by assigning meaningful tasks, providing frequent feedback, and rewarding positive performance. Build trust within the organization and align team towards a clear set of impactful goals.
  • Administer to Industrial Engineering employees; including performance reviews, merit increases, promotions, skills inventory and personal resources.
  • Working side by side with Operations and IPT leadership by developing tools to help them achieve all business targets, to include schedules, SOPs, bar charts, and performance dashboards.
  • Sourcing key IEOM talent to ensure success of the Business Unit goals.
  • Working in concert with other functional homerooms and shared service organizations to coordinate, direct, and support the continuous improvement of people, products, processes, systems and services.
  • Oversight of projects and tasks assigned to the cross-functional organizations and providing direction to ensure quality, schedule and cost are achieved.
  • Providing direct supervision and management of employees from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas to ensure business targets are met.
  • Creating long range planning & strategies for the operations team (e.g.: staffing forecasting, recovery plan schedules, line balancing assessments, EAC/Budget forecasting), as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5 years of related engineering experience in industrial engineering, operations/management, engineering and/or relevant experience in an aerospace, aviation, automotive, military, manufacturing, and/or related environment OR Master’s Degree AND 3 years of related engineering experience in industrial engineering, operations/management, engineering and/or relevant experience in an aerospace, aviation, automotive, military, manufacturing, and/or related environment
  • 2 years of leadership/management experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Estimate at Complete (EAC) experience.
  • Experience with Shop Floor Control (SFC) systems for various lifecycles of manufacturing products.
  • Understanding of advanced business systems applications in IE, including but not limited to MES, SAP, Tableau.
  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment; at least 1 year experience in Shop Floor Operations.
  • Demonstrated work experience leading and building diverse teams in fast-paced, quality-centric environments.
  • 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience leading operations’ improvement initiatives resulting in cost savings/cost avoidance.
  • Experience with multiple program environments utilizing common infrastructure and facilities.
  • Experience with Project Management and the execution of projects across multiple functions and organizations.

Primary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
