The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the HR department and plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties. This position assists in maintaining employee records, supporting recruitment efforts, facilitating onboarding and training processes, coordinating HR programs, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with day-to-day HR operations and provide clerical and administrative support to the HR team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases (e.g., HRIS systems).
- Support the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and ensuring necessary documentation is complete.
- Assist with benefits administration, such as enrollments, changes, and answering employee inquiries.
- Help plan and coordinate HR programs and events, such as training sessions, staff meetings, and wellness initiatives.
- Draft and edit HR documents including employment contracts, memos, and reports.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests and provide assistance.
- Support the performance management process by organizing evaluations and tracking employee progress.
- Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in an administrative or HR support role is a plus.Â
Skills/Abilities
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) preferred.
- Basic understanding of HR principles, practices, and labor laws.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with HR software or systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Detail-oriented and proactive approach to work.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Schedule
The work schedule is based on the demands of the business you must be available days, nights, weekends, and/or holiday availability are required.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
