Job DetailsJob Location: Dogs Inc Main Campus - Palmetto, FL 34221The Assistant Chef supports the daily operations of the Dogs Inc kitchen by assisting with food preparation, service, sanitation, and inventory management. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience for students and staff and requires a high level of schedule flexibility based on class schedules and kitchen coverage needs. This is a part-time position that requires flexibility in scheduling. While classes are in session: Availability for mornings, evenings, and weekends is required to support meal service and special events. When classes are not in session: Hours may be limited unless additional coverage is needed due to illness, vacation, or time off. Schedule may vary week to week based on campus needs, class schedules, and kitchen operations. Key Responsibilities Assists with planning, preparing, and serving meals for students and staff in a courteous and professional manner. Provides friendly, helpful service and contributes to a positive dining experience for all campus guests. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining area at all times. Communicates respectfully and works collaboratively with kitchen staff, students, and campus team members. Assists with food deliveries, storage, inventory tracking, and product rotation. Customer Service & Team Culture Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to help wherever needed. Provides excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors, representing Dogs Inc with professionalism and warmth. Remains flexible, calm, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment. Contributes to a supportive and team-focused kitchen culture. Qualifications Dependable, adaptable, and able to adjust to changing schedules and operational needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset. Previous food service or customer service experience preferred but not required. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform calculations on standard measures of American currency and weight, volume and distance. Computer Skills The following computer skills are required to perform essential duties of the job: Ability to use basic levels of Microsoft office including Outlook and Excel Ability to access and read e-mails
