Senior Pastor Â
The Senior Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of the church and is responsible for spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and overall administration, in accordance with Community Bible Church By-laws. The Senior Pastor’s overall responsibility, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, is to lead members and attendees to a closer and deeper relationship with God, and as such, this role requires a deep commitment to faith, effectively preaching the word of God, strong leadership, and a passion for guiding the congregation in spiritual growth. We are looking for a candidate who conforms to the qualifications established in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4.Â

Biblical:
•       Demonstrates a mature, vibrant relationship with Christ, through a life of humility, integrity, and prayer.Â
•       Approachable and committed to seeking biblical solutions to problems that arise with staff, members, and attendees.Â
•       In agreement and supports Community Bible Church’s Statement of Faith and Constitution.Â
Leadership
•       Actively builds relationships with lay leadership, staff, and church members to disciple, equip, support, and encourage them in their faith.Â
•       Displays a servant-hearted and teachable spirit, following through on reasonable expectations presented to him. Â
•       Articulates a collaborative vision for Community Bible Church to include most importantly Leadership Development.
•       Exhibits a heart for pastoral care and the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic support to congregation members in times of need.Â
Professionally
•       Master’s degree in DivinityÂ
•       Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a pastor.Â
Personal
•       Relational and personable, loves to be with people.Â
•       HumbleÂ
•       Excellent communicator both written and verbal.Â
•       Leads well without being overbearingÂ

The following are key responsibilities that Community Bible Church is seeking in a Senior Pastor.Â
Â
Spiritual LeadershipÂ
•       Prepare and deliver Christ-centered, expository preaching of Bible-based sermons each week, on Sundays and other days as required.Â
o   Lead regular teaching opportunities such as Bible studies and classes. Â
o   Ensure doctrinal integrity in all church teaching and content. Â
•       Collaborate with ministerial staff and worship teams to coordinate a cohesive and spiritually meaningful weekly worship service.Â
•       Prepare Bible studies and teachings that are biblically sound (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and relevant to our congregation.Â
•       Develop, execute, and communicate the church’s mission and vision by aligning ministerial activities with the church’s overall goals for spiritual and physical growth.Â
Pastoral CareÂ
•       Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to congregation members, in collaboration with ministerial staff and lay leadership.Â
•       Actively participate in visitation to members in hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences. Offer support and prayer during these visits to provide comfort and spiritual care.Â
•       Assist those in need of special counseling outside of his own ability, making sure they will be lovingly provided for.Â
•       Officiate significant church events, weddings, funerals, and baptisms.Â
•       Promote and foster a sense of community within the congregation and encourage outreach efforts to the wider community.Â
•       Address difficult issues and conflict in a timely manner, taking the risks necessary to provide healing through healthy church relationship and communication.Â
Â
Administrative DutiesÂ
•       Oversee and coordinate ministerial staff, including pastors and associate pastors, ministry leaders, and church staff.Â
•       Meet with the church diaconate and lay leadership regularly.Â
•       Regularly attend staff and committee meetings.Â
•       Collaborate with lay leadership to manage church budget and financial resources. Â
•       Ensure compliance with Church policies and procedures.Â
•       Moderate Church Business Meetings and the Elders/Church Board.Â
•       Mentor both the Elders and others toward the gospel ministry.Â
Job QualificationsÂ
•       Master’s degree, preferably a Master of Divinity, from an accredited evangelical seminary.Â
•       Five or more years of experience in pastoral ministry in a role that involved preaching and supervision of staff.Â
•       A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a consistent spiritual walk.Â
•       Meets the biblical qualifications for Elders (1 Tim. 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9).Â
•       Willing to participate in educational and enrichment opportunities.Â
•       Citizen of the United States.Â
