Where You’ll Make a Difference

  • Perform proactive and detailed maintenance across plumbing, electrical systems, and general building upkeep.
  • Operate measurement equipment such as multimeters, gas meters, temperature meters, and airflow meters.
  • Apply technical knowledge of alternating and direct current (AC/DC) voltages, liquid pressure, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, vacuum pumps, and water‑pumping equipment.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and inspect a wide range of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain critical laboratory utilities, including compressed air, reverse osmosis/deionized (RO/DI) water, natural gas, oxygen, nitrogen, and gas detection systems.
  • Install soft and rigid tubing (1/8”–1/2”) for air, gas, and water applications.
  • Prepare, install, relocate, and perform seismic bracing for laboratory and process equipment.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to support specialized repairs and services.
  • Support laboratory operations by working Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with flexibility to cover alternative shifts (10:30 AM – 6:30 PM) for approximately 30 days, 2–3 times per year, as business needs require.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable communicating with internal customers to schedule repairs and complete work orders.
  • Comfortable working at heights (ladders up to 15 feet) and performing physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including outdoor areas, cold rooms, and temperature‑ or humidity‑controlled environments.
  • Availability to work overtime when required and to participate in an on‑call rotation to support after‑hours laboratory operations.
  • Willingness to obtain respirator certification.
  • High school diploma plus technical training (associate degree or trade school) and hands‑on experience in laboratory facilities maintenance.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety training and powered industrial truck or forklift certification.
  • Experience with gas detection systems and laboratory safety protocols.
