We are seeking a talented Senior Frontend Engineer - Platform Architecture to join our team at Sage. As we scale across multiple customers and complex use cases, we need to build out a front-end platform that allows engineers to build new tools, dashboards, and experiences easily. We’re looking for someone who can think through and build out the shared components and infrastructure to enable this development, allowing us to scale easily.

Responsibilities:

  • Build a Platform for the Frontend: Develop reusable, modular components as a part of a cohesive front-end platform to help scale across many customers and use cases, while ensuring our code remains maintainable and performant.

  • Design and Implement Scalable Solutions: Create and implement user-centric software solutions, focusing on building delightful consumer web experiences.

  • Collaborate Across a Multi-Disciplinary Organization: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Engage directly with our users and healthcare professionals to gather feedback and deeply understand their needs.

  • Deep Ownership: Own, maintain, and scale features end-to-end in the product lifecycle, ensuring smooth, performant, and ergonomic user experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience designing and engineering scalable frontend architectures – creating reusable component libraries, leveraging principled state management patterns, and optimizing for performance.

  • Deep expertise with Typescript, React, HTML5, CSS3, and related technologies.

  • Proficiency with build tools like Webpack and Vite.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) as well as orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes) to deploy web applications at scale.

  • Experience leveraging CI/CD to enable experimentation and safe deployment strategies.

  • Experience leveraging AI for code generation and building features.

  • Experience developing applications for healthcare or related fields.

Location and Work Model

  • Office Location: Our office is based in Palo Alto, CA.

  • Work Model: We have a hybrid work model with 3 days onsite each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
