ALSO is looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer, HW Design to develop electronics systems for multiple micro - mobility platforms.

What You Will Do

  • Join a cross-functional engineering team developing a next-generation light electric vehicle product line.

  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, controls, mechanical, and thermal engineers to deliver high-quality hardware solutions that meet design and performance requirements.

  • Design custom electrical hardware, including component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout.

  • Contribute across the entire product development lifecycle, participating in both the design (left side) and validation (right side) phases of the V-model development process.

  • Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and failure analysis of vehicle electrical systems and subsystems.

  • Partner with suppliers and vendors on component sourcing, evaluation, and qualification.

  • Support the development and execution of component-level and vehicle-level test plans, including systems such as Lighting, Power Conversion, BMS etc..

  • Maintain and document requirements and validation status using requirements management tools.

  • Act as a technical liaison between the hardware team and cross-functional groups, helping drive collaboration and engineering efficiency across the organization.

What You Will Bring

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience with a track record of technical accomplishments, curiosity, continuous learning, and strong system-level thinking.

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and technical influencing skills.

  • Experience working in small to mid-sized engineering teams, with exposure to diverse technical challenges.

  • Strong experience with circuit simulation and modeling tools.

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout.

  • Experience implementing common communication protocols in hardware, including CAN, USB, SPI, I²C, SENT, and LIN.

  • Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics, MCU platforms, sensors, control theory, and embedded systems.

  • Hands-on experience in an electrical engineering lab environment, using oscilloscopes, probes, multimeters, and power supplies.

  • Experience designing or working with switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) and understanding trade-offs between different topologies.

  • Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers (CMs) on manufacturing, sourcing, and validation activities.

  • Experience with power electronics systems (high current systems, >1kW power supplies, electronic loads, batteries) is a plus.

  • Demonstrated success bringing new products from concept through mass production launch is highly desirable.


The salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $245,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
