Industry Marketing Director - Legal

We are looking for a dynamic leader to drive theĀ GTMĀ positioning,Ā messaging,Ā andĀ thought leadership that will growĀ Intapp'sĀ LegalĀ business—our largest and most established vertical. As Director ofĀ LegalĀ Industry Marketing, you will develop compelling and prescriptive thought leadership,Ā createĀ industry GTM content/sales collateral, and provide strategic deal support forĀ Intapp’sĀ largest client opportunities.Ā Ā YouĀ willĀ partner with a diverse ecosystem—Industry Principals, Solution Product Marketers, Sales, Field Marketing, and Demand Generation—to buildĀ Intapp'sĀ legalĀ value proposition and drive a coordinated go-to-market strategy.Ā YouĀ will position the company as the trusted voice on the transformation of legal services and a strategic partner for firms navigating AI adoption, profitability pressures, and the evolving business of law.Ā 

This is a role for someone who enjoys building C-level relationshipsĀ to help adviseĀ firm leaders on how to achieve success in their strategic transformation programs.Ā This is aĀ Director-level individual contributor role, ideal for an experienced product marketing leader who thrives on both strategy and execution.Ā Ā Reporting to the VP of Portfolio & Industry Marketing, you will own both the industry narrative and the hands-on execution that turns thought leadership into pipeline and revenue growth.Ā

WhatĀ you willĀ do:Ā 

Develop bold,Ā differentiatedĀ Ā industryĀ thought leadership:Ā 

  • Own the annual messaging architecture for the legalĀ vertical—definingĀ the strategic themes that connect industry challenges toĀ Intapp'sĀ differentiated value and drive one coordinated story across all channels.Ā 

  • Create and deliver differentiated thought leadership,Ā backed by proprietary dataĀ or research,Ā thatĀ positionsĀ IntappĀ as the industry benchmark and defines what "great" looks like for a modern, AI-enabled law firm.Ā Partner with cross-functionalĀ SME’sĀ such as Industry Principals, GrowthĀ Directors, andĀ Practice Group Leaders to develop content.Ā 

  • Create CXO perspectives on trends shaping the legal market. Examples couldĀ include:Ā AI transformation, matter economics and pricing pressure, risk and compliance complexity, client development and relationship intelligence, and the shift toward connected, data-driven firm operations.Ā 

  • Develop keynote content and secure speaking opportunitiesĀ for you andĀ IntappĀ senior SMEsĀ at marquee industry events (e.g., ILTACON, LegalTech, ACC) to establishĀ Intapp'sĀ thought leadership position.Ā 

  • Partner withĀ PRĀ team to amplifyĀ Ā Intapp’sĀ voiceĀ in the legal market, building relationships with analysts, media, and industry influencers toĀ validateĀ our differentiation and elevate marketĀ perception.Ā 

  • Partner with demand gen/Ā growthĀ marketing to activate industry ABM campaigns to drive customer engagement and sales growthĀ Ā 

Lead the Legal GTMĀ positioningĀ and execution to grow the business:Ā 

  • Build andĀ maintainĀ the legal industry bill of materials:Ā competitive positioning,Ā sales plays, executive pitch decks, library of use cases, vision demos, client proof points, and competitive positioning that drive pipeline and improve win rates.Ā 

  • Partner with Solution Product Marketers to create unified portfolio messaging for legal buyers, ensuring a cohesive story rather than disconnected product narratives.Ā 

  • Orchestrate cross-functional execution: partner with Industry Principals to co-create authoritative content, Field & Event Marketing to execute industry moments, Demand Generation to activate ABM campaigns, and Sales Enablement to equip the field with best-in-class collateral and training.Ā 

  • Support GTM planning for product launches at the industry level, translating platform capabilities into legal-specific value propositions.Ā 

  • SupportĀ competitive intelligence and win/loss analysis to inform positioning, GTM strategy, and product roadmap priorities.Ā 

  • Track performance using leading indicators (content consumption, event engagement), middle-funnel metrics (share of voice, analystĀ perception, target account engagement), and lagging indicators (pipeline influenced, win rate correlation, deal velocity).Ā 

Engage directly in strategic deal pursuits (15-25% of time):Ā 

  • Support large,Ā strategic deals by developing custom presentations, executive messaging, and competitive positioning that opens doors andĀ advancesĀ deals.Ā 

  • JoinĀ executive briefings andĀ finalistĀ presentations, bringing industryĀ expertiseĀ and thought leadership credibility to high-stakes client engagements.Ā 

  • Collaborate with Sales on strategic account planning,Ā identifyingĀ opportunities toĀ leverageĀ industry insights and content to deepen client relationships and drive cross-sell.Ā

What you will need:Ā 

Your success is measured by driving growth inĀ Intapp'sĀ Legal vertical—setting the vision for AI-powered transformation in the market and positioningĀ IntappĀ as a key strategic partner in this process.Ā 

  • Ideal candidate has 10-15+ years of experience in management consulting, product or industry marketing,Ā and/or legal operationsĀ (e.g., law firm operations, legal technology, practice management)Ā Ā 

  • Has worked inĀ high-growth enterprise SaaS and AI environments, includingĀ expertiseĀ in portfolio messaging or vertical marketing strategiesĀ 

  • Knowledge ofĀ areas such as legal operations, business development, matter economics, pricing, AI/automation, or risk & compliance.Ā 

  • Knowledge ofĀ law firm business models, buyer personas (Managing Partners, CFOs, CIOs, Practice Group Leaders, General Counsel), and the competitive landscape in legal technology.Ā 

  • DemonstratedĀ track recordĀ developing high-profile thought leadership that builds market credibility and drives business results—ideallyĀ including published perspectives,Ā conference speaking,Ā and visibility in industry channels.Ā 

  • Outstanding executive presence and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and engage senior-level executivesĀ 

  • Entrepreneurial approach to finding new growth levers for the business, with strong problem-solving skills and talent for conductingĀ research, analyzing data,Ā executive storytelling/messaging,Ā developing hypotheses, and synthesizing recommendations.Ā 

  • Exceptional written communication, including interest in authoring thought-provoking points-of-view and conducting customer and market research.Ā 

  • Highly collaborative withĀ abilityĀ to lead through influence and orchestrate cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.Ā 

  • Willingness toĀ travelĀ up to 25% for client meetings, executive briefings, and industry events.Ā 

  • Bachelor's degreeĀ required;Ā MBA, JD, or advanced degree preferred.Ā

Your actual base salary will be determined by factors such as relevant experience, geographic location, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, variable compensation and equity may also be included.
